Dranesville Gate Station – Dranesville, VA (Washington Gas)
ULS performed all civil, mechanical, instrumentation and electrical work for the installation of a gas conditioning system at Washington Gas Light’s Dranesville Gate Station. ULS installed a 1200ft, 12″ steel transmission main extension.
- Mechanical: ULS installed and pressure tested 1″, 1 ½”, 2″, and 3″ steel pipe, both underground and aboveground, to facilitate the injection of odorant and hexane into the gas supply. Additionally, ULS installed a natural gas pressure reducing facility, providing underground concrete/steel supports, one control run with block valves, by-pass piping with equipment and tie-in, and construction of an injection rack with actuated valves.
- Civil: ULS constructed a gravel driveway, provided improvements to the gravel parking area, extended a retaining wall, and created multiple concrete and steel pipe supports.
- Electrical and Control: Installed 2″ underground conduit, electrical and control wiring, and numerous control panel boxes.
